What have I been up to since 2022

Dear Friends,

The last time I wrote to you was in December 2022, when I shared the difficult news that I would be stepping back from teaching weekly yoga classes. After teaching regularly since 2010, it was not an easy decision. I was deeply honoured by the dedicated, beautiful community that showed up week after week, some of you from the very beginning.

Like so many small wellness businesses, mine was deeply impacted by Covid. In early 2020, I closed both of my studio spaces and moved everything online. Your willingness to continue practicing with me during that time overwhelmed me with supportive love and I am deeply gratefull.

Then, in September 2022, a new opportunity arrived: a chance to return to teaching by taking on an afternoon Kindergarten class, soon followed with a role to become the school’s art teacher. Stepping into a new environment and weaving my love of creativity and mindfulness into the classroom was energizing and inspiring, but also demanding. I eventually made the heartfelt decision to release my yoga business so I could fully devote myself to becoming the best teacher I could be for my young students.

Around the same time, in June 2022, I began taking pottery classes. I fell in love with the process and enjoyed being a beginner again, learning with curiosity, letting my hands shape something entirely new.

As of 2025, I am still happily teaching art at the same school and continuing to grow as a potter. (If you’d like to see what I’ve been creating, I share my work on Instagram at @mindfull_mugs.)

My yoga practice has evolved as I’ve grown older. I still feel deeply connected to myself through the practice, but it no longer looks the way it once did. These days, I lean into restorative, rest focused sessions, balanced with occasional challenging postures and long, nourishing Yin holds. I also continue a daily meditation practice, often using art inspired mandalas and gentle, mindful breathwork. Together, these practices help me stay fluid, open, and connected in mind, body, breath, and spirit.

I have quietly continued to teach and lead yoga workshops around Calgary, and I’m truly excited to keep offering yoga in this more intentional, spacious way.

I hope our paths cross on the mat again soon. It would mean so much to share meaningful time together in healing, connection, and wellness.
